Sorrento Women's Adventure

Sorrento Women’s Trip

Take a deep breath, and fall into the embrace of beauty. This is the Sorrento Coast, where jagged mountains plunge their way to the sea, colorful villas cling to cliff-sides and fishing boats bob atop impossibly turquoise waters. A land like this can’t be “seen”, it must be experienced – taken in with all of your senses.

As you pay visits to Capri, Amalfi and Positano, you’ll walk in the footsteps of Roman Emperors along seaside mule-trails that weave through Mediterranean forests and lemon-scented hillsides – offering stunning, panoramic views of the sparkling azure sea. Sip a glass of Prosecco as the sun sets over the yacht-studded harbor, meander the narrow alleyways  – lined with irresistible shops – and dine on delectable, fresh seafood in local trattorie.

Each day brings just the right combination of invigorating walks, private visits, thrilling options and a healthy dose of spontaneity – so that you can fully immerse yourself in the regional culture and stunning beauty of the Sorrento Coast.

Stunningly Beautiful and Endlessly Fascinating

Our Sorrento Women’s Trip is led by Strada Toscana team member, Pia Ruoppo, and includes hands-on activities, behind-the-scenes looks into local culture and meaningful, shared experiences with Pia’s family – natives of the Sorrentine Peninsula for generations. Plus you’ll be immersed in the beauty of one of Italy’s most spectacular regions, all while staying at a private villa, nestled in a historic lemon grove.

Afterwards, you’ll join Pia, and your fellow travelers, for a tour of the grand villa and its surrounding lemon grove. Afterwards you’ll have time to explore or shop on your own before we meet up for a breathtaking excursion up the steep mountains that rise above the town of Sorrento. After a stop at our favorite, panoramic lookout, it’s on to Pia’s sister’s fattoria (farm) with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. Here you’ll enjoy a tour of the family’s organic herb gardens, followed by a delicious lunch, featuring foods from the farm.

In the afternoon, it’s back to the villa for free time to relax or take a stroll through the shady lemon grove before enjoying a relaxing aperitivo and dinner together.

DAY 3: Isle of Capri

  • Ferry to Isle of Capri, walking tour of Capri and Anacapri, optional chairlift ride to Mt. Solaro
  • Breakfast, Dinner

This morning after a delicious breakfast at the villa, get your camera ready, as you’re off with Sasha on a beautiful 30 minute ferry ride to the famous island of Capri. Here you’ll explore the former mule trails, turned trendy avenues, as you take in views of the yacht-studded harbor below and learn the ancient history of the island. Next you’ll shuttle to Anacapri  – on the opposite end of the island – where Sasha will take you to one of the most beautiful, tiny churches in Italy. Its hand-painted tile floors are simply stunning!

After lunch on your own, you might hop on the chairlift for a panoramic, 12 minute ride to the summit of Mont Solaro – or opt to shop your way through Anacapri instead. Either way, you’re in for incredible views that stretch across the sea. Afterwards, it’s back to the port for your ferry ride back to Sorrento. This evening you’ll enjoy aperitivo, followed by a delicious Mediterranean inspired dinner.

After lunch on your own at the park’s outdoor cafe, it’s back to the villa to relax or take a walk along the seaside cliffs. Then, it’s time don an apron for a delightful cooking lesson with Pia’s family that includes regional specialties and traditional recipes. Learn how citrus – in particular, lemon – influences the cuisine of Sorrento, and why fresh and local is the secret to some of the best food in Italy. Aperitivo is woven into your cooking time, followed by dinner featuring your homemade dishes – of course!

Here you’ll have time to explore, shop, and have a look inside Amalfi’s must-see cathedral. Stunning! Grab lunch on your own, before returning to the boat as you continue to Positano.

Positano’s steep, inviting avenues are lined with shops selling everything from jewelry to sandals to ceramics. Visit the town’s historic duomo, dip your toes in the sea, or cool your feet – and your taste buds – at a gelateria before your boat driver transports you back to Sorrento.
