She’ll be teaching you her unique approach and refined formula to floral design, all from the studio of a private 17th century villa, and an organic flower farm in the heart of Tuscany’s wine country.

Adri’s experience and natural sense of style is reflected in each arrangement and bouquet that she creates. She has studied under expert floral designers across the U.S., and her work can has been featured in publications, including, Once WedWedding Sparrow, Magnolia Rouge, 360 Weddings, Dear Gray, Brides of North Texas, Ruffled, Fort Worth Magazine (voted Best Florist 2017), and Style Me Pretty.

Adri is the visionary behind Moss Floral Design, a team of experienced wedding floral professionals who specialize in sourcing unique florals, ribbons and details that speak to each client’s palette and personal aesthetic. Whether she’s selecting blooms and foliages from her own cutting garden, a local nursery, or a micro-flower farm in California, Adri’s vision is to create something unique and beautiful for her clients. Floral compositions are created with intention, and designed with placement, spacing, color, and movement in mind. Plus she loves to incorporate curated vessels, candle holders, and styling pieces to add that final touch necessary to take a wedding or special event from pretty to truly personal and special.

Most important, Adri is a delightful teacher with a big heart. Her lessons will have you embracing your creativity while immersing yourself in the indescribable joy of working with flowers. Allen’s romantic, dreamy aesthetic and warm personality are irresistible, and he’s been documenting poignant memories around the world since 2011, when he turned his passion for the art of photography into a business. He’s covered destination weddings in Mexico, Europe, and Asia – to name a few – and his delightful, professional spirit is the ideal companion to this amazing retreat.


Flower Tuscany with Adri Smith is much more than a floral workshop. This is a carefully designed, in-depth experience of fellowship, camaraderie and fun beyond your wildest dreams – all situated in the gorgeous Italian countryside. In addition to daily lessons, demonstrations and one-to-one instruction with Adri, you’ll enjoy excursions to picturesque, medieval hill towns, an organic flower farm and hands-on experiences that are nothing less than extraordinary.


This all-inclusive retreat is suitable for all levels, from novice flower lovers and  beginners in the floral industry to professional floral designers who want to learn new skills and build their portfolio.

Adri will be generously sharing skills, resources, strategies and techniques that have taken her years of hard work and financial investment to master.

In order to ensure that you get the very best of Adri and her extensive expertise, and to maintain an optimum learning environment, the number of students for this retreat is capped at 10: an ideal number for both camaraderie and for maximizing your learning potential!

And your accommodations?

Well, once you get settled into your room at 17th century Villa Poggio alla Trese you won’t ever want to leave. Think swimming pool, wine cantina and chef-prepared meals that will leave you speechless. Plus Adri has reserved the entire villa exclusively for you and the rest of her students. You’ll be saying, “Pinch me. I must be dreaming.”


DAY 1, Sept. 8: Arrival

  • Tour of Villa Poggio alla Trese, retreat orientation, aperitivo hour, special welcome dinner

Benvenuti in Italia! Upon arrival at Florence Peretola Airport, sit back and relax as you are transported by private Mercedes Benz van service to the Italian countryside and Poggio alla Trese, your 17th century villa accommodations near the Tuscan town of Chiusi. After check-in you’ll have the opportunity to explore your surroundings and studio space before taking part in an orientation with Adri Smith, where you’ll get a preview of retreat. Afterwards it’s time for aperitif hour together before enjoying a delicious, regional-style dinner prepared by our own Chef Doriana.

DAY 2, Sept. 9: Puscina Flowers – Organic Flower Farm

  • Tour of Puscina Flowers gardens, large urn arrangement design, photo shoot of large urn designs
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner

This morning, after a breakfast that includes home-made torta, yogurts, fresh fruit, cereals, cold cuts and cheeses, our private driver will be transporting you to the Val d’Orcia  – perhaps the most photographed area in all of Tuscany. Here you’ll be visiting the charming Puscina Flower Farm, with its breathtaking views over the Tuscan hills, and beyond. After a tour of the gardens, you’ll gather your own flowers for a session with Adri on making large urn arrangements. Afterwards, Allen will be photographing your exquisite creations, followed by lunch served up family style, right here on the farm. In afternoon, it’s back to the villa with Adri for continued instruction before enjoying a friendly aperitivo and Tuscan-style dinner.

DAY 3, Sept. 10: Villa Poggio alle Trese

  • Bouquet lesson with Adri, bouquet photo shoot with model, group installation with arbor, photo shoot with model/bouquet/arbor
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Enjoy a lovely breakfast, and made-to-order cappuccino, then roll up your sleeves and join Adri for an exciting, hand-on lesson in creating a large-scale installation. With Adri’s guidance and one-to-one assistance, you’ll learn her expert techniques and signature approaches to bringing natural beauty and unique style to a floral installation.  After a light lunch served up at the villa, you’ll head to the studio with Adri to design stunning bouquets – followed by a stylized photo shoot with Allen Tsai and our adorable model. This evening you’ll enjoy a well-deserved aperitivo followed by a delectable, chef-prepared dinner. 

DAY 4, Sept. 11: Poggio alle Trese, Villa Foce

  • Personal flower instruction for boutonnieres, hair pieces & corsages, pasta making lesson, Villa Foce garden tour
  • Breakfast, lunch, aperitivo and farewell dinner

This morning, after a delicious breakfast, it’s time for some delightful floral designs with Adri, including her expert instruction for making boutonnieres, hair pieces & corsages. Afterwards, Antonietta is inviting you to join her for an oh-so-fun pasta making lesson, followed by lunch – featuring your hand-made pasta! In afternoon, take some time to finish up your projects before you head off to gorgeous Villa Foce, overlooking the rolling hills of the Val d’Orcia in the heart of Tuscany. Here you’ll enjoy a fascinating garden tour, followed by a special apertivo and farewell dinner back at the villa. Then work with Adri and Allen to create a stunning table setting for our Tuscan-style lunch – with each student’s arrangement.

DAY 5 – Sept. 12: Departure

Our drivers will be transporting you this morning to Florence Peretola Airport.

Your accommodations are beautiful Poggio alle Trese, a 17th century villa, nestled along the border of Tuscany and Umbria, near the town of Chiusi (Tuscany). The villa boasts an ample studio space (available 24/7), sweeping terraces for dining or lounging, swimming pool and elegant breakfast/dining hall. Sleeping rooms are furnished with family antiques are offer either an ensuite bathroom or shared bathroom (max 2 guests per bathroom). Rooms options are made available upon booking.
